Me too though I hear it changes on some difficulty levels. The route is actually my favorite. I like to start off with the route, then choose the rooftop-train detour which after the following match leads to the route by choosing the construction yard.
Sega's legal team has shut down a fan's massively-ambitious eight-year project to remake the game Streets of Rage. A Spanish developer, who only goes by the internet handle 'Bomber Link', spent the best part of a decade meticulously recreating Sega's Megadrive brawler from scratch. Streets of Rage Remake (also known as Bare Knuckle Remake) is a mind-blowing SOR fangame, released by Bombergames in 2011 on Microsoft Windows platform. It is ultimately designed as a remake of the original Mega Drive trilogy, though in some ways it can be seen as a true sequel to SOR3.
It's challenging but fun if a bit frustrating at first. I just played the original (not bare knuckle 3 mind you) on my copy of Ultimate Genesis collection and it felt notably slower than Remake, which means and 2 will probably feel like molasses. However the enemies were tougher compared to their counterparts in Remake, especially the shirtless kung fu dudes with the funky hair who always block everything. Quite possibly the most annoying enemies in the game. Even moreso than the ninja. On the plus side I was reminded how awesome Skate's rolling headbutt was in that game. Flawless victory on robot X? YES.edited 10th May '11 6:30:23 PM by VertigoHigh.
From what I heard Bare Knuckle 3 is actually a bit too easy. Is challenging but not overly difficult and the bosses themselves are more exploitable than 's save for, like I managed to get to the end on the bad ending playthrough using Skate without using any continues, and it wasn't my best playthrough either. Remake is harder either way.Although, I wish Remake had chosen 's rolling style over 's version, which feels gimped in comparison. In the former rolling takes you all the way from top to bottom/vice versa while the latter moves you not even halfway. Or better yet, give people a choice. In fact it seems kind of weird they left it out.edited 11th May '11 8:29:06 AM by VertigoHigh. A slight disappointment I have is the lack of a Bare Knuckle 3 route.
Obviously SOR3's is the one players are more familiar with but I would have liked to see Mr. X's conspiracy revealed to be much bigger than expected, so that the heroes have to save Petrov and then fly to Wsshington D.C.Also a question about Sormaker: how do you are supposed to use it? All I see upon launching it is a 'list: 00/00' on a blue background and nothing else. Does it allow for sprite changes too? For long I hoped for an editor that would have made SORR into something to rival if not top OpenBOR but unfortunately it doesn't seem the case. Glad Roo's moveset has been rounded out properly with star blitzes and a back throw, although I'm a bit sad that his most abusable attack (his back attack tail smack) has lost the tiny hitbox in front of him, so you can only use it to spam behind. But you can still make infinite combos out of it on many bosses (although many of them can be grab infinite'd with front grab - knee 2X - vault 2X - punch 1-3x - grab and repeat). There's also a an easter egg (a fairly boring one) if you play as Blaze (SOR 3) in the first stage of the 'bloody knife' route.
You need to have 0 lives remaining to see it (either die a bunch or start with 0 lives in the options).
